c*nt bags

well on the 16th anniversary of the nld's landslide victory in the democratic elections in 1990 (read my entry on this date last year), the military regime has extended the duration of aung san sui kyi's house arrest. not surprising really. i can see than shwe (head c*nt, sorry head general), doing his best kim jong il from team america impression: "fuck the UN! do you know how fucking busy i am?" well kofi, what're ye gonna do now?

from bill simmons

courtesy of espn.com:

"Two classic A-Rod moments from the last 48 hours: The crushing DP with the bases loaded on Sunday night at Shea, followed by the homer in the ninth with the Yanks down by eight runs at Fenway. He's the best. Three separate readers e-mailed me to tell me they won money on the DP, including San Diego's Brad Garey: "I made a $5 bet with my father, father-in-law, and brother-in-law that A-Rod would ground out in an inning-ending double play. They took the bet and, of course, I am now $15 richer." Ladies and gentleman, your 2005 AL MVP!"

no doubt. hah, i finally bitched.

something new

music video tuesdays (no rhymage, i know)...so we'll change it to music video mondays starting next week. every blog needs a gimmic right? i'll figure stuff out for the other days of the week. btw, this will only work if youtube.com continues working...

well what do i have to bitch about this time...

nothing really. :).

arsenal signed czech international midfielder, tomas rosicky from borussia dortmund today for an undisclosed fee. he's a short little workhorse with a powerful shot apparently. if he works as hard as freddie, i'll be happy. it probably means bobby pires is out tho. unfortunate, but he has been showing his age of late. we'll see how he plays in the WC. the hype around him has come down considerably since his 18 million quid signing for borussia back in '01, but leave it to arsene to bring out the full potential of a player.

oh that's right, i could bitch about the yanks, but you can't really bitch much considering the injuries around the squad. we're still 3 games ahead of where we were at this point last season.

i haven't talked about music of late, but here're some thoughts:

current "recently released" albums i'm listening to: gomez - "how we operate", the weepies - "say i am you" (thank you myspace), rhcp - "stadium arcadium".

i can't really get into the raconteurs - "broken boy soldiers" after a couple times through, but honestly, i've just been hung up on the bands listed above.

just a month or so before thom's "solo" album comes out. can't frickin wait.

matt costa's in town at the fox tomorrow night. i figure i'll go check it out as tickets are only $13. what else am i going to do on a wednesday night? after hearing his new stuff, i'm not that impressed. good music, but nothing that exciting.

2.5 weeks 'til wakarusa!

Friday, May 19, 2006

well thank god for that

VA VA VOOM is staying!

never really had a doubt :). especially after the champions league final.

taken from the bbc news website:

"At one point it crossed my mind to leave," he told a news conference on Friday, two days after Arsenal lost the Champions League final to Barcelona.

"But I think with my heart and my heart told me to stay."

He added: "I've never played in Spain and never will. This is my last contract."

fan-bloody-tastic news! he later goes on to say how proud he is of the team and their efforts in the final. i didn't agree with his complaints after the match. well, i agree with the fact that the referee was awful, but he should not have expressed his frustration so openly. that's arsene's job :). his leadership during the final was awesome. did you see how often he tracked back to defend... i believe him when he said that the reason he scuffed (what would have been the game winner) his shot in the 70th was due to his dead legs. cheers thierry, even with the miss, you overshadowed ronaldinho throughout. we'll be back next year!

in other news, i'm truly truly bored. 3 weeks 'til wakarusa!

music video

needless to say, music videos have progressed some...

buy-out?

seriously, what has become of the knickerbockers? this (lupica article (5/15)) would be the worst move imaginable and makes me hate isiah thomas that much more. maybe the plan is to have the worst record again next season and have a run at ogden. brown wouldn't accept that idea and maybe that's why he is being shown the $40 million door. bah.

in other ny sport news, randy johnson will never be randy johnson again and the if steinbrenner needs to win this year (and i'm sure he thinks he does), we'll have to throw $25 million at roger clemens... but after that's done, i'm sure he'll suddenly start to look old. ugh, it's not looking as promising as a week ago for the yanks this year. the line-up has been torn to shreds. chacon came back down to earth, and when will the same thing happen to moose?

2 more days 'til paris. OMG OMG OMG. nervous much? they've actually started showing ads for the match on telly. surprising. it's a showcase for the two best footballers in the world. you all know who my favourite is, but that "i may be ugly, but i have charm" is rather good.

alrighty, summer in this town named after a large rock has officially begun...
gotta start making plans to find my way out of here for july. it's become a tad routine.

1000!

1000th win for the manager and the yanks don't look so shabby so far.

shaky area is pitching but mainly in long relief and not starting pitching as some might think. it's always either proctor, sturtze, or small looking not so hot when given the ball in the 6th or 7th and it's not going to look much better when jaret wright joins them.

unit, mussina, wang, chacon, pavano... assuming pavano stays healthy and somewhat decent, AND randy johnson shapes up like he did later in the season last year (he just doesn't like the cold weather), it's looking as if this is a pretty good rotation. maybe, just maybe, moose will have his first 20 win season and the cy young he so desperately needs to sniff the hall of fame.

the line-up? FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC. so much for jeet's typical slow april eh?

bring in the bosox this week!

food poisoning eh?

ahahahhahahah,

silly spuds... here're some options for their new logo...

alright, now time to wait 10 days...

i want this t-shirt!

yes, i know it's been out for a while.

F.O.D.

ugh, dudes, these next ten days are gonna suck. that's really the only time i ever post to this thing innit? when i got some bitching to do. actually, it'll all suck until mid-july (LONDON TOWN!) and a mid-june trip to lawrence, kansas. heh heh, kansas. oh, big news i haven't mentioned yet...

GUNNERS IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL! WOOOOO!!!!
honestly, i don't know what chance we have against barca, but there's always hope. dream final, 2 best footballers in the world. we're going to need some va va voom magic (like against madrid), but they'll get some ronaldinho magic (like against milan). can gilberto shut down ronaldinho like he did to riquelme?

anyway, any post without a picture is boring, so here it is...

here's praying he back next season. he'd better be back, i'm going to be at the first match (bergkamp testimonial) at ashburton grove...

btw, yanks lost to the sox last night. oh well.
